Up All Night by Michele Callahan
Love You Like A Love Song, Book 3

Now he is a young, successful surgeon. Women throw themselves at his feet, and he gives them what they want, as long as they don't ask for his heart. The strategy is working well for him until he meets freelance reporter Jessica Finley.

She's smart, she makes him laugh, and she sees right through his playboy persona. When the past she's tried so hard to forget comes roaring back to life, Jessica's world implodes, and Mitchell Walker is at the center of the detonation.

Jessica's fire may burn hot enough to keep him up all night, but will their love be strong enough to burn away the ghosts of their past and melt the ice around his heart?

Crash and Burn - No book soundtrack, this one got its own song...

Amazon MP3 - iTunes - and more...
There are a lot of authors who blog about the soundtracks they listened to while writing a book. Me? I wrote song lyrics that told part of the story of Erin and Chance's romance in Crash and Burn. Then what? I found a groovy studio guy - Thanks JT Nolan! - and a talented young woman to write the music, arrange it, and sing their love song -- Thanks Lauren Kayley!

What happened next?  A song was born.  It's not Katy Perry, it's not freaking Mozart, but it moves. And every time I listen to the song it makes me want to dance --  and jump around with glee because I know the actual (yet fictional) people the song was written for. I know them intimately, because their entire love story is told in Crash and Burn.  Chance Walker and Erin Michaelson are part of me now, and so is their music. Even better? I know they got their happily ever after.

The BOOK: Crash and Burn will be out January 14 (Pre-order now at Apple and Amazon)

The SONG: Crash and Burn (mp3) comes out on iTunes and Amazon later this month.

Happy Reading - and Listening!

Crash and Burn (Book blurb)

Every love story should have its own song...

A childhood promise has Chance Walker picking up a guitar once again. Sure, he's been busy growing up, finishing college, and even law school. He made a promise to his dying mother and he’s determined to keep it. While his guitar playing dreams were big when he was a kid, his skill is rusty and he hires Erin Michaelson to bring music back into his life. Not only is she incredibly talented, she's one of the sexiest women he’s ever met. It's hard to focus on correct finger position when her sweet scent threatens to drive him out of his mind.

Less than twenty-four hours after his first lesson he sees her again, but this time she’s on stage using another name and seducing an entire audience of men. He played the gentleman card once, and it got him nowhere. This time, all bets are off and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her. A single, sizzling backstage kiss will change both of their lives forever, because Chance soon realizes that Erin is not just an itch, she’s an obsession that he refuses to live without.

Erin Michaelson spends her days teaching guitar and her nights on stage as her sexy alter-ego, Eva James. Music is her dream, her passion. All she wants is to say goodbye to a lifetime of scraping by, working two jobs, and paying for past mistakes. When a major record label exec hears her band play, she gets her big break. But life can be a real bitch, and meeting Chance now is just bad timing.

Problem #1: The record label wants her to dump her band and move to L.A. Problem #2: She hadn’t counted on Chance Walker and the scorching heat of that first kiss. And last but not least is Problem #3: Is Chance really falling in love with the dull guitar teacher, or is he really just lusting after the sexy Eva James?

Will success make all of Erin's dreams come true? Or will falling in love make them both crash and burn?

Crash and Burn is a scorching hot, contemporary, new adult romance of 58,000 words. The story contains explicit love scenes and is intended for an adult audience. Coming soon, fall in love with the other Walker brothers in Alone With You (Feb 2016), Up All Night (Mar 2016) and Make Me Forget (April 2016). Meet the human arm of the ALLIANCE. They are all that stands between you and... by ML Callahan

 ALLIANCE at Amazon

Meet the human arm of the ALLIANCE. They are all that stands between you and...

And what? Death? Destruction?

No. The answer is more complicated and more sinister. The truth will shock you, as it does Alexa. Join her on an incredible adventure.

Alexa is a 26 year old girl from Portland who drives her car over a cliff. Dead, right?

Wrong. She's not dead. She's gone, but she didn't die. She was sent through time by aliens on a mission to save all of us. Sound insane? Yes. It does. She thinks so, too. But when you're asked to save the world, you can't exactly say "No".  And when she falls in love the man responsible for ending life on Earth, then what? Kill him? Trust him? Both choices are dangerous, because this isn't a game. At least not to humanity. But to the immortal aliens pulling all the strings, it's precisely that...and Alexa will need to decide whose side she wants to be on.

Enjoy the ride!

UFO's in Denver? Fox 31 News Video makes me ask 'What If?'

1 - Anonymous man turns in video of strange object flying over Denver to local news station.
2 - Local news station takes their own camera crew to the site to film.
3 - Fox 31 News posts video and analysis of object flying too fast for the human eye to see.
4 - Wow!

Watch this and see for yourself!
What if...?
That is my favorite question.  :)

Mind Altering Zombie Gun? It's not sci-fi anymore.

I wish this were science fiction, but it's not.  The BBC ran an article recently on Russian President Putin's public go-ahead for use and further development of weapons meant to alter your mind.

Psychotronic weapons, they're being called.  And according to the article, they've been in development in both the USA and Russia since the 1950's.  They use electromagnetic waves, shot straight at your brain, to change your psychological state, fry your brain, leave you comatose, or, I'm sure, kill you...depending on their goal.

To quote the Russian defense minister, Mr. Serdyukov, who made the announcement:  "The development of weaponry based on new physics principles – direct-energy weapons, geophysical weapons, wave-energy weapons, genetic weapons, psychotronic weapons, and so on – is part of the state arms procurement program for 2011-2020."

So, I don't know about anyone else out there, but this is just creepy.  Imagine someone able to sit across a room and fry your brain, make you lose your mind, or subtly manipulate you into committing a crime, like murder.  According to this article, it's actually possible for these weapons to, "...transmit suggestions and commands directly into someone’s thought processes."

And here I used to think nuclear weaponry was bad news.

Being cursed with this knowledge, my thoughts go back to Jason Russell's very public meltdown just days after the release of the Kony 2012 video.  If you read the reports, this husband and father stripped in public, ran around naked, masturbating and incoherent in the street.  His family said he had an emotional breakdown brought on my dehydration and too much stress.  Yeah...right.  That's just what I do when I get thirsty and stressed out.  No drugs in his system, either and the police decided not to press charges.

Is it just me, or does this incident shine in a whole new light this morning?  It definitely makes me ask the big, WHAT IF, question.  And to think, my new book, Silver Storm, features an attack by a geomagnetic/dark matter weapon.  Hmmm.  And here I thought I was writing science FICTION.  Now we can only cross our fingers and pray for sanity to be restored.  Where does this end?

Look, I'm no world leader or elite scientist, but doesn't anyone out there have the common sense to say, "NO?"  Hey, Mr. President.   Yes, you too, Mr. Secretary of Defense and all of you bickering Politicians.  Oh, yes, and YOU scientists who are actually working on this stuff.  Hey, superspy, black-ops hero, GOOD GUY...yeah, you -  the people who know and are in a position to help the rest of humanity -  please stop this insanity.  Zombie movies are a blast to watch, but I'd prefer not to become one.  I'm sure the rest of humanity would really appreciate someone honorable to run interference for us as well.

Thanks.

Crazy Science - Skydiving From Outer Space?

Anyone remember the scene where James T. Kirk and Sulu dive onto the top of the Romulan's planetary drill from their space shuttle as Captain Pike is on his way over to talk to the bad guys?  (New Star Trek movie, not the old ones - although I love all of them, too.)

I though it looked completely insane and like something so far beyond our current tech I woudln't see it in this lifetime.

Not only is it in this lifetime, it already happened.  Wow.  I don't even know what to say.  This guy jumped from 71,500 feet and was in free fall for eight minutes.  He's planning an even higher jump soon.

Good luck.

Plants that smell bombs? Insanely Cool Scientist June Medford

June Medford, a biologist at Colorado State University is creating plants that change color when they are exposed to environmental contaminants or explosives.  Think this is science fiction?  It's not.  It's  happening right now in a little lab in Fort Collins, Colorado. These new allies are being called  "Plant Sentinals."

Imagine, a plant that turns from green to white as it grows on top of buried landmines, or when exposed to toxic chemicals?  Think of the implications in countries where land mines cost thousands of lives and limbs each year, the poor troops being hit by IED's on the roadside, or perhaps even carbon monoxide or radon poisoning in our homes.

Dr. Medford is a busy lady.  According to the article I read she has thirty or more post-doctoral researchers, assistant professors, and students in her labs on campus at any given time.  They are busy "re-wiring the natural signaling process" native to plants so that they will turn white when exposed to toxins in the air or in the soil.  They used computers to redesign the naturally occuring receptors in the plants to detect common toxic chemicals, explosives, and other agents used by terrorists.

The federal government hasn't passed by unaware.  The Defense Threat Reduction Agency gave her a $7.9 million grant to continue moving forward and take these plants from the lab into the real world for testing.  So, if you see a white plant somewhere, run...
